In preparation for their kick-off meeting in January, a large bank wanted to do something special for their sales force to reinforce their goals for the upcoming year. Not having much time for an event, as they were in meetings all day, they wanted something that would both fit in with their schedule and also be a fun surprise for the attendees.
Since the meeting was around the time of the Chinese New Year, Sense of Delight created a fortune-telling or "Chinese New Years" cart. The first step was meeting with the marketing director to find out what messages and goals she wanted to convey to the group. The next step was taking those messages and turning them into personalized fortune cookies for all the participants. After manufacturing the messages with the fortune slips and labels in the bank's colors, we had the cookies boxed then wrapped up to look like Chinese take-out containers. The tops of the boxes were decorated with chopsticks and the bank’s logo, along with a message for Good Fortune for the New Year. Then, while people were waiting in the lunch line, we strolled around with the Chinese New Years cart -- two fortune tellers accompanying the cart, distributing boxes to each meeting participant and offering them the opportunity to have their fortune told. All in all, we were able to reinforce the bank's goals in a fun way, with everyone taking home a box of cookies as a present and a reminder. |
